I-75 / Fruitville Road Interchange
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, will hold a Public Hearing for the I-75 / Fruitville Road Interchange Project.
Date: Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Location: Selby Public Library, Jack J. Geldbardt Auditorium located at 1331 1st Street, Sarasota, Florida
The meeting will be an open house format and will include a brief video presentation that will run continuously throughout the meeting. FDOT representatives will be available to answer individual questions at the display boards and receive written comments.
FDOT is preparing design plans for the reconstruction of the I-75 / Fruitville Road Interchange. The FDOT will rebuild the existing interchange to a diverging diamond interchange (DDI). The Department will also widen approximately 1.5 miles of Fruitville Road from Honore Avenue to east of Coburn Road. This information meeting is being conducted to present to the public and officials the proposed improvements for the project. FDOT conducted a comprehensive public involvement program during the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study of I-75 from south of SR 681 to north of University Parkway in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, Florida. The program included public meetings listed below:
Similarly, the Department developed a Community Awareness Plan (CAP) that is implemented during the design phase. The CAP will include a public meeting. In addition, FDOT project representatives are available to make a presentation about the project to community groups and organization as requested.
