Public involvement is an essential part of the Pine Island Road Shared Use Path Feasibility Study. FDOT will use various activities to engage interested parties in the study process including a Project Advisory Group and a public information meeting. Interested citizens may also request a presentation to their group or organization. Please contact us through the Email Updates page to request a presentation. Project Questionnaire

Approximately 900 respondents completed the Summer 2021 questionnaire that was available online and as an insert in the June 2021 project newsletter. The questionnaire was open from June 14 – July 16, 2021.

Project Newsletters

FDOT will publish project newsletters throughout this study to keep you informed. Click on the newsletter image to view each newsletter. If you would like to be added to the mailing list to receive future project newsletters, please fill out the form on the Email Updates page.


June 2021 Kickoff Newsletter

FDOT will create and distribute project newsletters as a part of the public outreach for this project. You must have Adobe® Acrobat® Reader properly installed on your computer in order to view and print the following documents. If you do not have Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, download a free copy here. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing and using this software. Some of these files are large and may take several minutes to download.

Project Advisory Group

FDOT has formed a Project Advisory Group (PAG) that consists of agencies and stakeholders. FDOT will meet with the PAG throughout the study. These meetings will assist the project team with identifying issues, opportunities, and potential transportation solutions for the corridor. The table below shows PAG meetings held to date and meeting materials.

Public Workshop

FDOT will also hold a Corridor/Feasibility Public Workshop during the study to engage all citizens in the process. This workshop is tentatively scheduled for spring 2022.


FDOT welcomes and appreciates everyone's participation in the project. Meetings are developed in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
