Welcome
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is designing improvements to SR 29 in Collier County. The entire corridor limits extend approximately 16 miles along SR 29 from Oil Well Road to south of SR 82. The corridor has been divided into five segments which will accelerate the design process. The proposed roadway improvement consists of increasing capacity on SR 29 by widening the existing two-lane undivided segment of SR 29 to four lanes, as well as providing a bypass around downtown Immokalee.
This project begins at New Market Road and ends at SR 82. On the south end it will connect to the new Immokalee bypass and on the north end it will connect to the SR 82 roundabout. The final roadway will consist of two 12-foot travel lanes in each direction with 4-foot paved inside shoulders, 10-foot (5-foot paved) outside shoulders, and a 30-foot grass median.
There will be a public meeting during the design phase. Meetings will be held with elected and appointed public officials, other representatives of public agencies, and public/special interest groups to discuss the progress of the design.
