Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One began a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study in February 2017 to evaluate improvements at the intersections of US 41 at Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Way and Myrtle Street and develop context based bicycle/pedestrian facilities along US 41 from Dr. MLK Jr. Way to Myrtle Street in the City of Sarasota.
On December 23, 2020 the Florida Department of Transportation Office of Environmental Management (OEM) granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance (LDCA). Click here for the approval announcement. Click here for the final documents.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project ar being, or have been, carried-out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016, and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
