Public Meeting Information

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One invites you to attend a public meeting on Thursday, May 26, as part of the design process for a proposed safety improvement US 41 from Edwards Drive to Magellan Drive. The purpose of the public meeting is to present information and obtain input on the project design.

A 5:30 p.m. Open House will present an opportunity for in-person attendees to view project exhibits and speak with FDOT staff. During that time remote attendees may view project exhibits at www.swflroads.com/us41/edwardstomagellan/ and may log into GoToWebinar or dial in to the meeting audio. There will be a looping presentation at the in-person location which will include details on the project. That same presentation can be viewed by virtual attendees shortly after the meeting opens at 5:30 p.m.

Advance registration will allow the project team to anticipate social distancing needs and discuss remote participation options with attendees. All in-person attendees are requested to register in advance of the public meeting by calling or emailing.

Participate

  • In person at University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee Campus, Selby Auditorium, 8350 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243. Participants who are not feeling well should utilize a remote attendance option.
  • Online using an electronic device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Please register at: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7882193673481181711.
  • Over the phone by requesting the presentation slides at least seven (7) days in advance of the event and dialing 1-914-614-3221 and enter passcode 665-467-430 upon the start of the event. This will enable over-the-phone attendees to review the slides while listening to the presentation.
  • After the event by viewing a recording of the public meeting presentation and project exhibits, on the project website www.swflroads.com/us41/edwardstomagellan/ under “Documents and Publications.”

Provide Comments

In-person and online attendees will have the opportunity to offer comments during the public meeting. Comments received by or postmarked to the FDOT Project Manager by June 4, 2022, will be included in the public record.


This meeting has been developed in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
