Welcome to the website for this project which will design the replacement bridge on SR 700 (US 98) over the Peace River. The FDOT conducted a Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) study between 2013 and 2018. The existing bridge was constructed in 1931 and its narrow width makes it functionally obsolete.
The proposed bridge and adjacent roadway will have 2 travel lanes, with bike lanes, a sidewalk on the north side, and a shared use path on the south side.
A Public Meeting was held on February 18, 2020. FDOT will continue to coordinate with elected and appointed officials and agencies to discuss the progress of the design. The public is invited to submit comments at any time using the Email Updates page.
