The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is designing improvements to the intersection of State Road (SR) 683 (US 301) and University Parkway in Sarasota County. The project was requested by the FDOT District One Traffic Safety Department and is intended to improve safety, enhance traffic flow, and reduce crashes.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing the intersection of SR 683 (US 301) and University Parkway as well as modifications to acceleration lanes in all directions. Additional improvements include replacement of signal equipment and signal head realignment, intersection lighting, signing and pavement markings, and incidental drainage improvements. Proposed improvements are based on an Intersection Safety Study dated May 2020 and Corridor Safety Study dated May 2020.
