Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

This week, crews will work on resurfacing, barrier walls, and wrong-way detection devices. 

• Motorists should expect single lane closures on I-4 during nighttime/overnight hours from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
• Motorists should expect double lane closures on I-4 during nighttime/overnight hours from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
• Motorists should expect ramp closures on I-4 during nighttime/overnight hours from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
• Motorists should expect lane shifts on I-4 through the duration of the construction.
• Drivers should exercise caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the interstate through the duration of the construction.

Week of Saturday, September 15 through Sunday, September 22:

Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures as crews begin milling and paving turn lanes and continue working on sidewalk and curb from Forest Park Street to Ariana Street. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

This week, crews will work on mobilization and install maintenance of traffic devices.

• Motorists should expect lane closures throughout the duration of the construction.
• Resurfacing project – expected lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Roundabout – expect lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 7 am and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Motorists should expect lane shifts through the duration of the construction.
• Drivers should exercise caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway throughout the duration of the construction.

Week of Saturday, September 15 through Sunday, September 22:

Expect daytime shoulder closures and possible nighttime/overnight lane closures for signal equipment installation at the intersection. Use caution, watch for workers close to the road, and be prepared to merge or stop.

Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

The I-4 eastbound exit ramp to Kathleen Road (Exit 31) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Monday, September 16 through Wednesday, September 18. DETOUR: Motorists wanting to exit at Kathleen Road should follow the posted detour and exit at US 92 (Exit 28), head east to Wabash Avenue (US 92) then south to George Jenkins Boulevard, then east to Kathleen Road (SR 539).

Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 28

The new traffic signal on US 27 at Kokomo Road has been installed and is in a testing period, during which time it will flash. This is to test the new signal while alerting motorists to its presence. The signal is expected to be fully operational the week of September 29. Use caution and be prepared to stop.

Watch for both northbound and southbound lane closures during the day or night as crews complete signal work, asphalt repairs, and final striping. Use caution, be prepared to merge, and add additional time in your schedule to reach your destination.

Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

This week crews will continue demolition of the existing bridge. Motorists should follow the posted detours.

• Eastbound: Head north or south on US 17 to Hardee Street and east on Hardee Street to Lake Branch Road. Head southeast on Lake Branch Road to Platt Road and head north back to County Line Road.
• Westbound: Head east or west on County Line Road to Platt Road. Head south on Platt Road to Lake Branch Road and head west to Hardee Street. Turn left (west) on Hardee Street to US 17. Turn right (north) on US 17 back to County Line Road.

Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

Crews have closed Scenic Highway from Grove Avenue to Hillcrest Avenue to begin installing new drainage structures.

• Local motorists should follow the posted detour using Winston Avenue, South 4th Street and Domaris Avenue.
• Truck traffic is detoured using Hunt Brothers Road, US 27, and East Mountain Lake Cutoff Road.
• The contractor has removed the sidewalk on the west side of the project. Follow the temporary pedestrian detour.

Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

Crews will be taking delivery of materials, pouring bridge deck and working on lighting.

Expect intermittent lane closures throughout the project from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 16 through Friday, September 20. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

Week of Sunday, September 15 through Saturday, September 21

This week the contractor will be placing roadway striping and signs throughout the project. Watch for daytime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic and be prepared to merge.

Construction on this project is currently scheduled to begin, Monday, October 7, 2024. During this time, utility companies may be in the area to move facilities out of the way prior to construction. Watch for periodic lane closures and workers close to the road.

During construction, SR 33 (Lakeland Hills Boulevard) will be reduced to one lane in each direction with limited left turn lanes, primarily at signalized intersections. It will be necessary at times to close side street entrances during different phases of work with local traffic and pedestrian detours in place.
