I-4 Ramp Closures Scheduled at SR 559 Monday and Tuesday nights

BARTOW, Fla. – The I-4 ramps at SR 559 (Exit 44) will be closed two at a time over two nights next week while the contractor paves SR 559 and the I-4 ramp entrances. The closures will happen at night/overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday, March 17, and Tuesday March 18, on the following schedule:

Monday, March 17, 2025 (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.): The eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at I-4 and SR 559 will be closed with all ramp traffic detoured.

  • Eastbound SR 559 (On Ramp #44) Detour: SR 559 Traffic wanting to head eastbound on Interstate 4 will enter Interstate 4 westbound to SR 33 (Exit #38), exit the interstate and re-enter eastbound.
  • Westbound SR 559 (Exit Ramp #44) Detour: Westbound traffic will continue on I-4 to SR 33 (Exit #38), exit the interstate and re-enter the interstate headed east to the SR 559 exit.

Tuesday, March 18, 2025 (8 p.m. to 6a.m.): The westbound on-ramp and eastbound off-ramps will be closed with all ramp traffic detoured.

  • Westbound SR 559 (On Ramp #44) Detour: SR 559 traffic wanting to enter I-4 westbound will turn at C. Fred Jones Boulevard headed west to Berkley Road, south to Pace Road, west to University Boulevard north on SR 33 to enter I-4 westbound.
  • Eastbound SR 559 (Exit Ramp #44) Detour: Eastbound traffic will be detoured at SR 33 (Exit #38), turn left under the interstate and follow SR 33 around to SR 559.
