SR 82 from Ford Street to Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard: The improvements under this contract consist of pedestrian and safety upgrades to include milling, resurfacing, signing and pavement markings, lighting, signalization, and other incidental construction for intersection improvements along SR 82 from Ford Street to Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.

• Motorists should expect intermittent nighttime/overnight lane closures on the inside and outside, eastbound and westbound lanes throughout the duration of the project. Closures will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

SR 82 from the Hendry County Line to Gator Slough Lane: Construction Project: Motorists should expect intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours throughout the duration of the project.

Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, sodding, subgrade & base construction on the westbound and eastbound of the roadway.

• Crews will be performing wildlife crossing excavation and a concrete pour on the westbound side of the roadway.
• Crews will be performing earthwork activities at the east end of the project.
• Crews will be constructing asphalt pavement on the westbound side of the newly constructed roadway.
• Crews will be installing light pole foundations at Corkscrew Road outside the clear zone.
• Crews will be constructing sidewalks and erecting permanent fences outside the clear zone throughout the project.
• A new traffic pattern is in place at the west end of the project, shifting the eastbound inside travel partially into the existing shoulder area.
• A new traffic pattern is in place at the east end of the project, shifting the westbound outside travel lane into the temporary paved median.
  • Motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging operations on State Road 82.
  • Frequent and brief flagging operations are taking place throughout the day to assist trucks in safely crossing the road within project limits.

The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists should use caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway throughout the duration of the project. The estimated completion date is spring 2027.
