SR 82 from the Hendry County Line to Gator Slough Lane: Construction Project: Motorists should expect intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours throughout the duration of the project.
Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, sodding, subgrade & base construction on the westbound and eastbound of the roadway.
- Motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging operations on S.R. 82 and Corkscrew Road for crews to begin paving efforts. FHP will be on site to support these operations.
- A new traffic pattern is in place at the east end of the project, shifting eastbound and westbound traffic onto the newly constructed roadway over the added wildlife crossing. This shift marks Phase 2 of the project.
- A new traffic pattern is in place at the west end of the project, shifting the eastbound travel lane to the newly constructed pavement done in Phase 1 of the project.
- Crews will be performing roadway widening, drainage installation, subgrade, and base construction at the west end of the project on the right side of the roadway.
- Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing and grubbing, excavations, drainage installation, subgrade and base construction on the eastbound right side of the roadway.
- Crews will be performing earthwork activities at the west end of the project, including the shared path between Collier County and Hendry County.
- Crews will be installing and placing structural concrete and rubble riprap for Bridge 030330 outside the clear zone on the right side of the roadway.
- Frequent and brief flagging operations are taking place throughout the day to assist trucks safely crossing the road within project limits.
- Work will continue on Phase 2 of the Box Culvert, and concrete pours are in progress outside the clear zone.
- Pile driving will resume at the under-Canal bridge on S.R. 82 outside the clear zone.
