SR 82 from the Hendry County Line to Gator Slough Lane: Construction Project: Motorists should expect intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours throughout the duration of the project.
Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, sodding, subgrade & base construction on the westbound and eastbound of the roadway.
- A new traffic pattern is in place at the west end of the project, shifting the eastbound travel lane to the newly constructed pavement done in Phase 1 of the project.
- A new traffic pattern is in place at the east end of the project, shifting the westbound travel lane to the newly constructed pavement done in Phase 1 of the project.
- Crews will be performing roadway widening, including sodding, subgrade & base construction on the westbound of the roadway.
- Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, subgrade & base construction on the eastbound of the roadway.
- Crews will be performing wildlife crossing excavation and a backfill on the westbound side of the roadway.
- Crews will be performing earthwork activities at the east end of the project
- Crews will be constructing asphalt pavement on the westbound side of the newly constructed roadway.
- Crews will be installing light pole foundations at Corkscrew Road outside the clear zone.
- Crews will be constructing sidewalk and erecting permanent fence outside the clear zone throughout the project.
- Motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging operations on State Road 82.
- Frequent and brief flagging operations are taking place throughout the day to assist trucks in safely crossing the road within project limits.
- The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Motorists should use caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway throughout the duration of the project. The estimated completion date is Spring 2027.
