SR 82 from the Hendry County Line to Gator Slough Lane: Construction Project:
Motorists should expect intermittent southbound and northbound lane closures during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours throughout the duration of the project.
- Work consists of bridge construction, adding lanes and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, drainage, grass median, sidewalk, guardrail, shared-use path, detention ponds excavation, signalization, lighting, and signing and pavement markings.
- Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, and embankment construction on westbound and eastbound of the roadway. Crews will be performing pile driving on the westbound of the roadway.
- Motorists should anticipate lane closures with flagging operations on State Road 82.
- Frequent and brief flagging operations are taking place throughout the day to assist trucks in safely crossing the road within project limits
- Moss Solar is putting up a solar energy field just east of project limits. They will have numerous trucks from now until mid- to late- July delivering the solar equipment out to their site, in addition to 200-300 project personnel traveling through the SR 82 corridor beginning sometime in July.
- Excavation in pond 1 with off-site hauling of materials, including work zone signage and flagging operations within project limits
- Crews plan to close Church Road beginning Saturday, June 21 through Sunday, June 22, 2025. This weekend closure will detour motorists northbound on State Road 29 and then westbound back onto the north end of Church Road (Felda Church Road).
The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Motorists should use caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway throughout the duration of the project. The estimated completion date is January 2027.
