S.R. 29 and S.R. 90 (U.S. 41) Resurfacing and Road Improvements: FDOT is resurfacing S.R. 29 from north of Wagon Wheel Road to south of I-75, and S.R. 90 (U.S. 41) from south of Southwest Boulevard to north of Thomasson Drive in Collier County. Improvements to both S.R. 29 and U.S. 41 include milling and resurfacing, shoulder improvements and new signing and pavement markings. Additional improvements to U.S. 41 include reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, replacement of curbs and installation of pedestrian curb ramps, and replacement of traffic signal detection loops.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
Motorists should anticipate lane closures throughout the duration of construction.
Work on U.S. 41 and S.R. 29:
Crews will be working on striping during nighttime/overnight hours with lane closures anticipated from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists.
Crews are working close to the roadway. Please exercise caution in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, and anticipate delays. The expected completion date is early 2026.

SR 777 River Road from I-75 to US 41: : Construction project: Road embankment installation continues on the northbound roadway from Aucilla Drive to US 41. As embankment is completed, drainage installations, subgrade mixing, curb placement, and roadway grading will continue. Sod installation, signal, ITS, and lighting work are ongoing. Trucks will be crossing the road at various locations using intermittent flagging operations. Pothole maintenance will continue as necessary on all current travel ways through the project.
A NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN SHIFT is set to occur Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
• NEW Traffic Pattern: all northbound and southbound traffic on S.R. 777 (River Road) will be switched to the new southbound alignment temporarily, from just south of I-75 to Venice Avenue. Please watch for signs directing traffic. Travelers should use caution when exiting neighborhoods onto River Road and are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
