The westbound I-4 entrance ramp from Kathleen Road (Exit #31) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, December 18 and Friday, December 19, 2025 to remove materials and equipment.

Northbound motorists on Kathleen Road will be detoured to the eastbound I-4 on ramp where they will travel eastbound to the next exit at US 98 (Exit #32) and re-enter the interstate westbound.

Southbound motorists on Kathleen Road will be detoured east on Griffin Road to US 98, turn left (north) on US 98 to enter I-4 westbound at US 98 (Exit #32).

This week the contractor will continue paving U.S. 98 and at the I-4 exit ramps requiring lane closures and detours. All dates are subject to change depending on weather or other unforeseen conditions. Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures throughout the project both north and southbound while crews continue nightly paving and concrete work Sunday through Thursday nights. Use caution and be prepared to merge. All four ramps at U.S. 98 and I-4 (Exit # 32) may be closed with traffic detoured. Watch for closure and detour signs.

DETOURS DURING RAMP CLOSURES

During the I-4 EXIT RAMP closures: Eastbound and westbound I-4 motorists wanting to access U.S. 98 will exit I-4 at Kathleen Road (Exit #31), head north on Kathleen Road to Griffin Road and turn right (east) back to U.S. 98.

During I-4 ENTRANCE RAMP closures: U.S. 98 motorists wanting to access Interstate 4 will head west on Griffin Road to Kathleen Road, turn left (south) on Kathleen Road to access Interstate 4 in either direction. Note: Northbound motorists north of Griffin Road will make a U-Turn at Crevasse Street to head south toward Griffin Road and follow the same detour.

This week crews will continue drainage improvements on South Eastside Drive and near Coral Way.

• South Eastside Drive at Combee Road will be reopened to traffic and the detour removed.
• The Beverage Castle driveway on Combee Road will be closed once South Eastside drive is reopened so crews can continue installing new drainage pipe. Use the entrance on South Eastside Drive.
• Expect lane closures on Combee Road at night with flaggers directing traffic and possible shoulder closures during the day. Use caution and be prepared to stop.

This week crews will continue milling and resurfacing from Lyle Parkway to Commercial Boulevard, Sunday through Thursday nights. Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

This week workers will continue installing new water mains along the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard and new drainage along Gilmore Avenue. Roadway crews will pave asphalt base for the new northbound lanes between Granada Street and Griffin Road.

• Gilmore Avenue remains closed from Parkview Place to Julius T. Horney Drive through late January. The closure is necessary as crews install new water pipe, sanitary pipe, and storm drains along Gilmore Avenue. Follow posted detour signs to navigate around the closure.
• Watch for side street closures along the east side of Lakeland Hills Boulevard as crews work to install new storm drains and water lines. Any side street closures will utilize the adjacent side streets to route traffic east towards Gilmore Avenue to the respective closed street.
• Traffic will remain in one lane in each direction for most of the duration of construction. Use caution, be prepared to merge or stop, and plan for delays.
• The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph during construction.
