About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One will be replacing the County Line Road (CR 664) Bridge over Peace River in Polk and Hardee Counties starting in fall of 2024. This project is located 1.3 miles east of the Bowling Green city limits.

The bridge, which was constructed in 1958, is in need of replacement due to the poor condition of the substructure. The existing bridge has two 12-foot travel lanes without shoulders and will be replaced with a new bridge with two 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot shoulders. The bridge approaches will also be resurfaced or reconstructed as needed and guardrail added. Additionally, a maintenance connection road will be constructed on the north side of County Line Road west of the bridge. The new structure will bring this facility up to current standards and significantly reduce maintenance.

A temporary detour will be implemented during construction to help control traffic - a map of which can be found below.

Visit this website during construction to keep up with planned lane closures, detours and other significant milestones throughout the project duration.
