• Beginning Monday, March 16, 2026, motorists should expect to see construction begin on the roundabout at Babcock Road/State Road 31 and Lake Babcock Drive.
  • The contractor will temporarily close Lake Babcock Drive to construct the planned roundabout at the intersection. During this closure, drivers will need to enter and exit Babcock Ranch via detours using Cypress Parkway, Greenway Boulevard, and Saw Palmetto Parkway.
  • ​​​​​​​This temporary closure is expected to remain in place through July.

• Beginning the week of February 2, motorists should expect reduced speeds along Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31 as the contractor initiates construction activities for the planned roundabout at Lake Babcock Drive. These operations will be conducted during the daytime and nighttime/overnight hours.
  • As always, changing traffic patterns can cause confusion among motorists. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution, stay alert, and follow all posted regulatory signage while driving through the construction zone. We will continue to keep you updated regarding any changes to the traffic pattern. 

SR 31 at CR 74 (Bermont Road) Roundabout Construction: Construction project: These improvements will include constructing a roundabout, milling and resurfacing, upgrading drainage, installing new lighting, adding landscaping, signing, and pavement marking. Throughout construction, motorists should expect intermittent daytime and nighttime/overnight lane closures.

• Motorists should expect to see crews performing work during daytime hours, beginning Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Crews will be completing outstanding contract items and deficiencies.

• The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.

   

U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) from William Street to Peace River Bridge: Construction Project: The contractor is working to install new signals and lighting along U.S.41 northbound.

• Expect potential lane closures for crews to work on signalization and lighting.
• Crews will be working on ADA ramps at U.S 41 northbound at Olympia Avenue and U.S. 41 northbound at Marion Avenue.
• The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen conditions. Expected completion in Fall 2026.

SR 35 (US 17) from Tamiami Trail (US 41) to Bermont Road: Construction project - The contractor is continuing to mill and repave SR 35 (US 17) from the Florida Street Bridge to Bermont Road.

• Daytime shoulder closures for grading in the median and outside for placement of sod and signs.

• Nighttime closures for overhead signalization and signage.
