The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is designing improvements to State Road (SR) 60 in Polk County. The project is intended to extend the service life of the existing roadway and improve safety by implementing improved access control, enhancing traffic flow, and reducing crashes. The project consists of milling and resurfacing SR 60 from east of CR 555 to west of Broadway Avenue (SR 700 / US 98). Additional improvements include traffic signal upgrades, pedestrian signal upgrades at Baker Avenue, replacing signing and pavement markings, and upgrades to sidewalk and curb ramps in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

FDOT held a public meeting (online and in-person) on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, to present project information and provide an opportunity for the public to offer feedback. While comments and questions about this project can be submitted at any time, the official public meeting comment period is now closed.
