About

This project consists of Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) improvements, including milling and resurfacing of the existing pavement to extend the service life of the pavement as well as improvement to S&PM, signals, and lighting. SR 35/US 17 is a north/south, four-lane rural roadway with two 12’ lanes, 10’ shoulders, and typical 40’ grassed median. The roadway will be widened to provide 4’ paved inside shoulders in the median in all areas, except where left turn lanes are present, as well as at the seven right-turn lanes to provide bicycle keyholes. Improvements also include revising the two full access median openings with directional median openings at 3rd Street NE and Pembroke Road North. Additionally, approximately 200’ north of Pembroke Road, the median will be widened to provide a northbound to southbound Uturn lane. Pedestrian signal upgrades and retrofit lighting will also be provided at the intersection with County Road 640 (Homeland-Garfield Road).
