Beginning on Sunday night, April 19, 2026, motorists should expect a full-time intersection closure on West Olympia Avenue at Taylor Street in downtown Punta Gorda. This full-time intersection closure is anticipated to last through the end of May 2026.
Trucks traveling southbound on U.S. 41 that want to travel eastbound on Olympia Avenue will need to utilize West Virginia Avenue and then U.S. 41 northbound until they reach eastbound Olympia Avenue.
Trucks traveling southbound on U.S. 41 that want to travel northbound on U.S. 41 will need to utilize West Virginia Avenue and then travel northbound on U.S 41.
Motorists on West Olympia Avenue who want to travel eastbound will need to utilize Sullivan Street, then West Virginia Avenue, and then U.S. 41 northbound until they reach eastbound Olympia Avenue.
