The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One will be making roadway improvements, including milling and resurfacing, pavement reconstruction, and pavement widening. Other project features include guardrail, drainage, signing, pavement markings, and Intelligent Transportation Systems on SR 35 (US 17) from SR 45 (US 41) to Bermont Road in Charlotte County.

  • SR 35 (US 17) from Tamiami Trail (US 41) to Bermont Road: Construction project - The contractor is continuing to mill and repave SR 35 (US 17) from the Florida Street Bridge to Bermont Road.

    • Motorists should expect nighttime/overnight double-lane closures for paving operations.
    • Motorists should expect daytime shoulder and single lane closures on SR 35 (US 17) eastbound and westbound for curb installation, asphalt placement, and widening areas.

     

    • On Monday, November 3, motorists should expect the I-75 northbound ramps to be closed overnight for paving operations. Crews will complete each northbound ramp separately.
      • Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 who want to access westbound US 17 should travel the eastbound ramp and then continue until they can U-turn at Regent/Piper Road.
      •  Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 who want to access eastbound US 17 (SR 35) should use the westbound ramp and then continue until they can U-turn at Marlympia Way.

      •  Motorists traveling westbound on US 17 (SR 35)  who want to access northbound I-75 will need to continue until they reach Marlympia Way and then U-turn. They can then continue until they reach northbound I-75.

      •  Motorists traveling eastbound on US 17 (SR 35) who want to access northbound I-75 will need to continue until they reach Regent/Piper Road and then U-turn. They can then continue until they reach southbound I-75.

    • ​​​​​​​On Tuesday, November 4, motorists should expect the I-75 southbound ramps to be closed overnight for paving operations. Crews will complete each southbound ramp separately.
      • ​​​​​​​Motorists traveling southbound on I-75 who want to access eastbound US 17 (SR 35) should travel the westbound US 17 (SR 35) ramp and then continue until they can U-turn at Marlympia Way.
      •  Motorists traveling southbound on I-75 who want to access westbound US 17 (SR 35) should travel the eastbound US 17 (SR 35) ramp and then continue until they can U-turn at Regent/Piper Road.

      •  Motorists traveling eastbound on US 17 (SR 35) who want to access I-75 southbound will need to continue until they reach Regent/Piper Road and then U-turn. They can then continue until they reach southbound I-75.

      •  Motorists traveling westbound on US 17 (SR 35) who want to access I-75 southbound will need to continue until they reach Marlympia Way and then U-turn. They can then continue until they reach southbound I-75.
