BARTOW, Fla. – A series of pacing operations on I-4 eastbound and westbound are planned from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, May 18th, so utility crews can pull lines across the interstate. Law enforcement officers will slow or pace traffic to give workers time to pull the lines across the interstate. Motorists attempting to enter the interstate at the following locations may have to wait or follow law enforcement at a reduced speed. Delays are expected.

Westbound

  • I-4 Westbound at Polk County Rest Area near entrance ramp
  • Polk County Rest Area I-4 entrance ramp
  • SR559 to I-4 Westbound entrance ramp
  • SR570 (Polk Parkway) to I-4 Westbound entrance ramp
  • SR33 near I-4 (exit 38)

Eastbound

  • I-4 Eastbound at US98 to I-4 Eastbound entrance ramp
  • US98 to I-4 Eastbound entrance ramp
  • SR33 to I-4 Eastbound entrance ramp (exit 33)
  • SR33 to I-4 Eastbound entrance ramp (exit 38)

I-4 Traffic Detour Planned Starting May 27 - 31, 2025

BARTOW, Fla. – A series of traffic detour operations on I-4 eastbound and westbound are planned from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Tuesday, May 27th nightly through Saturday, May 31st, so utility crews can pull lines across the interstate. A detour will be set up between exits 38 (SR33) and 41 (SR570) utilizing Pace Road/University Boulevard. Delays are expected.
