Unanticipated Detour on State Road 70 in the City of Arcadia
DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. – An unplanned detour will begin within the hour on westbound State Road (SR) 70 in the City of Arcadia so crews can repair a water service line that became disconnected from an 8-inch water main beneath the westbound pavement in front of the library.
The detour is expected to last at least two hours but may be extended due to unforeseen circumstances. Westbound SR 70 traffic will be routed south onto NE Oak Street, continue to E Oak Street, then north onto US 17 before returning to westbound SR 70.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signs, remain alert, and allow extra travel time while crews complete the repair work.
