HIGHLANDS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is performing repairs on the steel grid deck of the US 98 Kissimmee River Bridge near Okeechobee.

County crews are assisting with traffic control, and FDOT crews are onsite to begin repairs. A flagging operation will be in place to maintain traffic in both directions until temporary repairs are completed. Once repairs are finished, traffic will return to its normal flow, and permanent repairs will be scheduled.

Motorists should expect delays, use caution in the area, follow posted signs, and consider alternate routes when possible.
