BARTOW, Fla. – This is to notify the public that the Anna Maria Island Draw Bridge on State Road 64 in Manatee County has reopened as of 4:25 p.m. after experiencing a mechanical malfunction earlier. Traffic is flowing freely for both motorists and boaters. When the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) received notification that the draw bridge was stuck open, a maintenance crew was dispatched immediately. Repairs have been made and the crew will continue monitoring the bridge out of an abundance of caution. FDOT would like to thank our local law enforcement, the Holmes Beach Police Department, for assisting with traffic control.
