Southbound Lane on the SR 31 Wilson Pigott Bridge Update
Flagging Operations and Detour in Place for Alternate Route
LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Emergency repairs are underway on the Wilson Pigott Drawbridge. The southbound lane will be temporarily closed this morning due to issues with a steel plate covering the damaged steel grating. Flagging operations will begin no later than 12 p.m. today to allow two-way traffic on the bridge. Motorists are also encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid delays.
Permanent repairs are being planned and will require overnight work with a southbound detour until the new deck section is ready. This project is a top priority, and advance updates will be shared as details are confirmed.
