BARTOW, Fla. –  The Florida Department of Transportation is revising the road closure for US 98 from north of NW 80th Avenue to SR 70 in Okeechobee County, delayed opening until Friday, June 9. US 98 near the railroad tracks has been closed with an anticipated open date of June 2. Due to heavy rains, the schedule has changed. Weather permitting, US 98 will be open on Friday, June 9, 2023. Detours are in place for commercial truck traffic and local traffic. Law Enforcement Officers are on site to help direct motorists. Please allow extra travel time and watch for workers in the work zones.
