Reconstruction Traffic Shift Lifted at S.R. 64 and Griffin Road
HARDEE COUNTY, Fla. – The reconstruction traffic shift on State Road (S.R.) 64 near Griffin Road has been lifted, and both lanes are now open on the newly constructed roadway. Overnight, crews removed the barrier wall, installed new striping, and opened the roadway to traffic this morning.
Crews are completing cleanup and securing the area in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. Work will pause from November 26-30 in observance of the holiday and will resume on Monday, December 1.
Motorists should continue to use caution and watch for workers and equipment along the corridor. The posted speed limit remains 45 mph throughout the project limits, and intermittent lane closures may still occur as construction progresses.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow posted signage, and use caution when approaching the work zone.
