 AVON PARK, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the State Road (S.R.) 17 in Avon Park Jurisdictional Transfer from S.R. 17/Main Street to U.S. Highway 27/County Road 17A in Highlands County.

This transfer involves the ownership and maintenance responsibilities of a portion of S.R. 17, also known locally as Main Street, from FDOT to the City of Avon Park. The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with information regarding the right-of-way transfer. This includes transfer of ownership of a small segment of the roadway from FDOT to the City of Avon Park. It also provides the opportunity for the public to offer feedback about the transfer for the official hearing record.
