SARASOTA, Fla. – Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation will implement overnight lane closures at the S.R. 789 and Bird Key intersection on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Single inside-lane closures will be in place in both the eastbound and westbound directions.

Motorists can expect nighttime noise from backup alarms, construction equipment, and power tools. Drivers are urged to use caution and watch for workers, construction vehicles, pickup trucks, and equipment entering or exiting the travel lanes.
