24-Hour Lane Closures Scheduled on U.S. 27 Starting Tuesday
BARTOW, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces upcoming lane closures on U.S. 27 just south of the Waverly Barn Road/Dunson Road intersection due to an emergency repair being performed by Polk County.
The work involves repairing a 24-inch reclaim line and is scheduled to begin Tuesday, February 3, with a goal of completion by Friday, February 6. Construction activities are planned to occur 24 hours per day until the repair is complete.
During this time, the following traffic impacts are expected:
- Southbound lane closures will include the right-turn lane and the outside southbound through lane just south of the intersection.
- The outside northbound lane may also be temporarily closed, if necessary to safely complete the repair.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area, anticipate delays, and be prepared to merge.
