Multiple Maintenance Projects Underway on State Road (S.R.) 29 and State Road (S.R.) 78 in Glades County
GLADES COUNTY, Fla. –The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting asphalt paving operations at multiple locations throughout Glades County as part of scheduled roadway maintenance. Intermittent lane closures will be in place during construction activities.
On S.R. 29, from the Caloosahatchee River Bridge to north of the Glades County line, crews are performing asphalt paving operations. Lane closures will occur intermittently as paving advances through the corridor.
On S.R. 78, asphalt paving operations are underway in Buckhead Ridge from Lake Drive to Access Road and in Lakeport from Reservation Road to the Harney Pond Canal. Traffic may be reduced to one lane at times, with flagging operations used to maintain traffic flow.
Work will commence sometime between 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. Motorists are urged to use caution, follow posted signs, and watch for workers, equipment, and changing traffic patterns while traveling through work zones.
The maintenance work is expected to be completed by Feb. 20, 2026, weather and schedule permitting.
