EMERGENCY INFORMATION FDOT Emergency Travel Alert: For information on the current situation, please visit the following page - Alerts.

MATLACHA, Fla.– Beginning Monday, February 9 at 8 p.m. through Tuesday, February 10 at 6 a.m., an overnight lane closure is scheduled for the Little Pine Island Bridge. This lane closure will allow crews to perform necessary operations as part of the ongoing bridge reconstruction.

During this operation, crews will close a lane to perform deck planing and grooving operations. This process helps create a smoother, safer roadway, and improve drainage by helping water to run off the bridge instead of collecting and potentially causing flooding or other hazardous driving conditions. Flaggers will be present to help direct traffic and guide motorists through the work zone.

The bridge reconstruction will deliver long-term improvements to the transportation infrastructure serving Pine Island and the surrounding communities.

Motorists should expect intermittent traffic shifts and potential traffic congestion. Please continue exercising caution and reduce speeds when traveling through the work zone. Please note that construction schedules remain subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
