Collier County, Fla. — Due to significantly reduced visibility from heavy smoke in the area, all northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 75 (I-75/Alligator Alley) between Exit 80 (State Road (S.R.) 29) and Exit 23 (U.S. 27) remain closed at this time.

Traffic is being rerouted based on the fire perimeter, smoke plume direction, and real-time visibility conditions.

Travelers are urged to use the following detour routes or find an alternate route.

• Northbound (Miami to Naples area):
  • From the Miami area on I-75 northbound, take Exit 23 (U.S. 27) south to S.R. 997 south to U.S. 41
  • Take U.S. 41 north to Naples
  • From U.S. 41 take Collier Blvd. (S.R. 951) north to I-75

• Northbound (Miami to Fort Myers area):
  • From the Miami area on I-75 northbound take Exit 23 (U.S. 27) north to S.R. 80 west to I-75.
  •  
• Southbound (Naples/Fort Myers area to Miami):
  • From I-75 south take S.R. 29 south to U.S. 41 south to Miami
  • From U.S. 41, take S.R 997 north to U.S. 27 to I-75

• Southbound (Ft. Myers to Miami area):

• • From I-75 south take S.R. 80 East through the town of LaBelle and the town of Clewiston, continue on U.S. 27/S.R. 80 East to South Bay, and follow U.S. 27 South to the Miami area

Motorists should plan ahead or determine alternate travel options, as well as check fuel levels, drive alert, and be aware of changing speed limits and travel conditions.
