BARTOW, Fla. – Construction crews have discovered a small depression developing in the bike lane along the southbound lanes of U.S. 98 just south of Interstate 4.

Out of an abundance of caution, the outside southbound travel lane has been closed while crews conduct further investigation to determine the cause and develop a repair plan.

Motorists traveling through the area are advised to use caution, be prepared to merge into the remaining open lane, and expect heavier traffic congestion than normal, as daytime lane closures are not typically utilized in this area.
