LEE COUNTY, Fla. – To our valued community, we are pleased to share regular updates on the ongoing construction of S.R. 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to S.R. 78. We are committed to delivering these safety improvements as quickly as possible while ensuring quality and safety remain top priorities.

Recent Work

This past week, crews completed power installation for the new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs) at West Mariana Avenue and continued installation for the PHB near West North Shore Avenue. Furthermore, crews poured new concrete pads around the recently installed pull boxes. New concrete sidewalks were also poured along the project corridor. In addition, installation of new street signage, upgraded roadway lighting, and associated conduit advanced.

Upcoming Work

Next week, crews will complete the process of installing new sidewalks along the corridor. Work will also progress on the installation of new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs), along with upgraded roadway lighting, pull-box installation, and associated conduit for the new signalization system. In the coming weeks, crews will pave the final riding surface of the roadway. Still to come, crews will pave the final riding layer of the roadway.

Estimated completion of the project has been adjusted due to project resequencing in response to addressing community concerns. Estimated completion is early 2026.
