MATLACHA, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is pleased to announce the substantial completion of the Little Pine Island Bridge Reconstruction project. Crews will remain on-site to complete final punch-list items and minor finishing tasks.

The reconstructed bridge delivers long-term improvements to transportation infrastructure, enhancing safety, reliability, and connectivity for residents and visitors. In addition, the project was designed with resiliency in mind, strengthening the corridor against future storm and weather impacts.

The community is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating both the project’s completion and the 100-year anniversary of Matlacha. This event will take place Tuesday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Matlacha Community Park. Additional details about the event can be found here.
