Southbound Lane Closure for Bridge Repairs on U.S. 98 over the Kissimmee River
HIGHLANDS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will conduct bridge repairs on U.S. 98 over the Kissimmee River on April 14, 2026.
Repairs will require a temporary southbound lane closure with a flagging operation, allowing traffic to be maintained in both directions. Work will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews perform repairs to the bridge deck.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to follow directions from flagging personnel and posted signage.
Construction schedules and traffic control operations are subject to change.
Motorists are encouraged to add additional travel time, follow posted signage, and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
