LEE COUNTY, Fla. – To our valued community, we are pleased to share regular updates on the ongoing construction of S.R. 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to S.R. 78. We are committed to delivering these safety improvements as quickly as possible while ensuring quality and safety remain top priorities.

Recent Work

This past week, crews paved the northbound and southbound outside lanes of the roadway as well as all side streets. They also completed the installation of the new mast arms for the upgraded signalization at the Pondella Road intersection.

Upcoming Work

Moving forward, pending weather and other unforeseen circumstances, crews will continue to pave the final riding layer of the roadway. Once the final riding layer and roadway striping operations are completed, this will allow for the reopening of the northbound and southbound outside lanes. The Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons will become fully operational following final paving and striping.

Project personnel are continuously monitoring and adjusting all maintenance of traffic (MOT) devices to maintain motorist and pedestrian safety. To minimize impacts to the traveling public, operations that require additional lane closures continue to occur during the nighttime hours.

Estimated completion of the project has been adjusted due to project resequencing in response to addressing community concerns. Estimated completion is Spring 2026.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to finish this roadway improvement project. Stay tuned for future updates as we make progress on this critical project.
