U.S. 98 at Lyle Parkway Median to Close Starting Thursday Night

BARTOW, Fla. – Crews are scheduled to close the median opening on U.S. 98 at Lyle Parkway in Bartow beginning Thursday night, August 27, to start paving the intersection and installing a new mast arm signal.

The median opening is expected to remain closed until paving is complete and the signal is installed and operational, which is anticipated to take approximately four months.

Lyle Parkway will remain open. However, northbound and southbound motorists on U.S. 98 who need to cross the median to access Lyle Parkway will need to continue on U.S. 98 to the next median opening to make a U-Turn. 

Drivers should expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights for paving. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the work zone and allow for additional travel time.

The milling and paving work and signal installation is part of an overall resurfacing and signal project along U.S. 98 from S.R. 60 in Bartow to C.R. 540A in Highland City.
