LABELLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is providing an update to the vehicle weight restriction on the S.R. 29 (Bridge Street) LaBelle Drawbridge over the Caloosahatchee River in Hendry County.

Effective immediately, the LaBelle Drawbridge is subject to vehicle-specific weight restrictions of 26T, 32T, and 34T, depending on vehicle configuration. Commercial vehicle operators must follow posted weight-limit signage; any vehicle exceeding its applicable weight limit must use the designated regional detour via S.R. 78, U.S. 27, and S.R. 80.

  • Vehicles exceeding the applicable posted weight limit must use the designated regional detour via S.R. 78, U.S. 27, and S.R. 80.

Regional Detour of Commercial Vehicles

Northbound: S.R. 29 → S.R. 80 → U.S. 27 → S.R. 78 → S.R. 29

Southbound: S.R. 29 → S.R. 78 → U.S. 27 → S.R. 80 → S.R. 29

Traveler Advisory & Reminders

Motorists should plan ahead, allow additional travel time, follow posted weight-limit and detour signage, and use FL511.com, mobile mapping applications, or GPS devices to monitor real-time traffic conditions.
