Project Description:
The Florida Department of Transportation will be making intersection improvements including road widening, milling and resurfacing, drainage, lighting, signalization, ITS and signing and pavement markings on SR 884 at Fowler Street in Lee County. These improvements will enhance traffic flow and reduce crashes at the intersection. FDOT crews will perform work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weather permitting. Nighttime/overnight work will take place Sunday through Thursday between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. This project is expected to be complete by mid-late 2024.

Road Watch Update:
Crews are constructing turn lanes, drainage upgrades, signalization upgrades and milling and resurfacing at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Fowler Street.
Motorists should anticipate right turn lane closures onto westbound SR 884 (Colonial Boulevard) when traveling southbound on Fowler Street.
Motorists should anticipate right turn lane closures onto SR 884 (Colonial Boulevard) when traveling northbound on Fowler Street. These closures will stay in place throughout the duration of 2023.
Three lanes on SR 884 (Colonial Boulevard) headed eastbound will be reduced to two lanes when approaching Fowler Street.
Motorists should expect intermittent nighttime/overnight lane closures as crews work on signalization of the intersection.
The expected project completion is mid-2024.
