The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin a 2.6 -mile resurfacing project along State Road (SR) 681 linking I-75 to US 41 in Sarasota County.  The improvements consist of primarily milling and resurfacing, then cross slope correction for leveling and comfort, guardrail, drainage improvements, updated signing and marking, installing intelligent transportation equipment and signalization. During resurfacing of the on- and off-ramps, some overnight detours will be required.

Project improvements include:

• Resurfacing
• Cross slope corrections to improve roadway
• Drainage improvements
• Updating signage and markings
• Install “Wrong Way Driving” detection system for I-75 off ramp to SR 681
