About

The US 41 (SR 45) at Six Mile Cypress Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study is being conducted to address future traffic demand, enhance safety, and improve the roadway’s design to accommodate all users, including bicyclists and pedestrians. The study is located in unincorporated Lee County, Florida.

The study will evaluate potential capacity improvements for the intersection, considering both at-grade and grade-separated options, while prioritizing safety enhancements for both motorized and non-motorized users.

Public Involvement

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One has held several public meetings for this project.  A Public Kickoff Meeting was held on February 26, 2025 ( in-person) and on March 4, 2025 (online) to present information about the project and provide an opportunity for the public to express their views about the project.  An Alternatives Public Meeting was held on October 28, 2025 (in-person) and on October 30, 2025 (online) to present the proposed alternatives and to solicit feedback from the public.  

Both in-person meetings were held at the Lake Regional Library, Meeting Room A located at 15290 Bass Road in Fort Myers, Florida 33919.
