444634-2 S.R. 72 (Clark Road) from East of I-75 to East of Proctor Road

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is proposing improvements along State Road (S.R.) 72 from east of I-75 to east of Proctor Road in Sarasota County. The purpose of the project is to improve capacity along the corridor to meet future travel demand as well enhance safety and accommodate bicycle and pedestrian activity. Proposed improvements include widening S.R. 72 to a four-lane divided roadway with a raised median, curb and gutter, and shared use paths on both sides as well as converting the existing open drainage system to a closed drainage system. Additional improvements include construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of S.R. 72 and Ibis Street/Talon Boulevard and widening the existing roundabout at the intersection of S.R. 72 and Proctor Road/Dove Avenue.
