About

The Florida Department of Transportation will begin work in early March to make improvements to SR 70 from Turner Avenue to east of the Ford Dealership in Desoto County. This safety and improvement project will include milling, resurfacing, installing new signal detection loops and pull boxes, signage and pavement markings. The project is approximately 2.32 miles, with limits identified on the map below.

Project Schedule:

  • Construction begins early March, 2024
  • Occasional lane closures on SR 70 are
  • expected and will occur after 8:30 p.m. and before 7:30 a.m.
  • During construction, please use caution in  work zones
