RoadWatch
  • US 98 from East of CR 621 to the Okeechobee County Line:  Construction project: Crews will resurface US 98 from east of CR 621 to the Okeechobee County line, reconstruct US 98 in various areas, widen shoulders, replace guardrail, and install signing and pavement markings. During construction there may be daytime and nighttime lane closures and traffic will be reduced to one lane in various areas; temporary signals will be installed to guide motorists. Please use caution in the area and watch for workers in the work zones.

    • Motorists should expect intermittent daytime lane closures between Kissimmee River Bridge and approx. 0.7 miles south of CR 621 to install temporary barrier wall, attenuator pads, and temporary striping
    •  Temporary traffic signals will be utilized starting at 500 feet north of the Kissimmee River Bridge to 500 feet south of the bridge reducing bridge traffic to one lane. This will allow bridge and guardrail work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 26, 2024. Traffic will stop at the designated stop bar and proceed as directed by the signal system.
    • Please Note: Temporary traffic signals will be utilized per FDOT index 102-606, bringing the roadway down to one lane for bridge and guardrail work. Please be aware that the lane width will only be 11.5 feet wide, and motorists should use caution.

     Anticipated completion is summer 2024.
