The Florida Department of Transportation will commence milling, resurfacing, installing curb, gutter, drainage and pavement markings on less than one-half mile on Clark Road (SR 72) from Honore Avenue to west of Gantt Road in Sarasota County in June. The project’s estimated cost is $5 million with completion expected in mid-2026.

Clark Road (SR 72) from Honore Avenue to West of Gantt Road: Construction project: The Florida Department of Transportation is milling, resurfacing, installing curb, gutter, drainage and pavement markings on less than one-half mile on Clark Road (SR 72) from Honore Avenue to west of Gantt Road in Sarasota County.
Overnight Intersection Lane Closures September 15-18
Motorists can expect overnight through-lane closures on northbound and southbound Honore Avenue at the Clark Road intersection from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sept. 15-18, while crews adjust signal mechanisms. Motorists on Honore Avenue will be able to make right-hand turns onto Clark Road to navigate around the intersection.During the operation, the traffic signal will remain in a flashing pattern, and law enforcement will assist with traffic flow while crews are working. Motorists on Clark Road will be able to travel east and westbound during the overnight operation. Please slow down and watch for workers in the project area.
- Motorists can expect intermittent single- and dual-lane closures overnight throughout the project.
- Please watch for signs, barricades and workers close to the travel lanes and obey posted speed limits in the construction zone.
- The first two eastbound Palmer Crossing Mall entrances off Clark Road at will have a temporary road closure through late fall. Patrons can access the businesses via the third entrance to the mall off Clark Road at Applebee's and two entrances off Honore.
- The project’s estimated completion is in mid-2026.
