This FDOT Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) project was completed in April 2025 and is intended to extend the service life of the existing roadway. Project limits begin at the pavement joint approximately 500 feet east of Old Stokes Road and extend east to US 27.

Improvements included, reducing the existing 12-foot-wide lanes to 11-foot-wide to provide for 6-foot paved shoulders, adding cross-drain pipes to improve drainage, extending the left turn lane, and constructing a traffic separator that will close the existing median opening on US 98 just west of US 27 to improve safety.  

During construction, CSX also made improvements to the railroad tracks west of US 27.
