About
The FDOT has begun a resurfacing project on SR 559 from Interstate 4 to SR 33. The project includes:
- Milling and resurfacing the roadway
- Asphalt driveway reconstruction
- Shoulder widening
- Turn lane reconstruction
- Widening for keyhole bike lanes at the turn lanes
- New traffic signals with supplemental lighting at the SR 559 and I-4 ramps
During construction the I-4 on and off ramps at SR 559 will be closed at night/overnight between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. when the ramp entrances are paved. Look for this work to occur over a few nights in or around March 2025.

Week of Sunday, June 8 through Saturday, June 14:
This week crews are working on project cleanup during the day. Watch for periodic shoulder closures and workers close to the road. The new signals are scheduled to go from flash to fully operational and begin controlling traffic in the intersections with the I-4 ramps on Tuesday, June 10. Use extreme caution until everyone is used to the new signal.
