About

This Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project will extend approximately 5.4 miles, from Old Scenic Highway to C.R. 544 / S.R. 544 in Dundee. It is designed to improve the roadway’s ride quality by milling the top layer of existing asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, side streets entrances and some driveway aprons. In select areas, rumble strips will also be added along the edge lines and center line to enhance safety by providing an audible and tactile warning to alert drivers if they begin to drift from their lane.

Specific improvements include:

·       Remove the top layer of asphalt and replace with new asphalt

·       Pave side street entrances and some driveway entrances

·       Add high-emphasis crosswalk striping at Frederick Avenue, Kokomo Road and S.R. 544/ C.R. 544

·       Install rumble strips along the center and edge lines on the north end of the project
