The Florida Department of Transportation is starting a new drainage project on Combee Road in Lakeland, Florida in early September 2025. The project is designed to improve roadway drainage along Combee Road. Improvements include installing new drainage structures and pipes, installing ditch bottom concrete reconstructing asphalt in damaged areas, and milling and resurfacing the roadway. 

The normal work schedule will be 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays. Watch for lane closures with flaggers directing traffic.

During construction near South Eastside Drive, South Eastside Drive will be closed at Combee Road with traffic detoured using East Main Street.
