About
The Florida Department of Transportation began a drainage improvement project on Combee Road in Lakeland, Florida in early September 2025. Improvements include installing new drainage structures and pipes, installing ditch bottom concrete, reconstructing asphalt in damaged areas, and milling and resurfacing the roadway.
The normal work schedule is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays, but may be adjusted as needed. Watch for lane closures with flaggers directing traffic.

- The Beverage Castle driveway on Combee Road will be closed so crews can continue working on the new drainage pipe crossing. Use the entrance on South Eastside Drive.
- Watch for lane closures at night/overnight with flaggers directing traffic on South Eastside Drive as crews pave at the intersection.
- Expect lane closures on Combee Road at night with flaggers directing traffic and possible shoulder closures during the day. Use caution and be prepared to stop.
