The Florida Department of Transportation completed a drainage improvement project on Combee Road in Lakeland in early March 2026. The project included installing new drainage structures and pipes, adding ditch bottom concrete, reconstructing asphalt in damaged areas, and milling and resurfacing the roadway.

Construction activities were primarily conducted during nighttime hours from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays, with lane closures and flaggers directing traffic as needed throughout the project.
