FDOT District One, in partnership with the City of Lakeland and other stakeholders, is evaluating the possibility of constructing a multi-use trail (shared-use path) on Sikes Boulevard (SR-563) between Ariana Street and Lime Street and determining a design for the trail.

The trail is anticipated to be approximately 1.4 miles long, wrapping around the western shore of Lake Hunter near downtown Lakeland. The Project Study Area is a ¼ mile radial buffer surrounding the proposed Trail. This study will provide contextual information and community preferences that will support further studies and analyses.

FDOT District One is seeking the community's input on their preferences for trail elements and features, possible destinations and use of the trail, and identification of potential opportunities and issues within the study area. Community members and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the following survey:
