About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One has completed a Wildlife Crossing Feasibility Study for a section of SR 29 from north of the Florida National Panther Wildlife Refuge boundary to the Vulcan Mine entrance in Collier County. The project limits are shown on the project location map below. The study involved the evaluation of two crossing locations alternatives, various structure types and canal crossing alternatives along with wildlife fencing alternatives to minimize the risk of wildlife-vehicle collisions (specially Florida panthers) along this section of SR 29. This website contains the Wildlife Crossing Feasibility Study and provides for public involvement opportunities and contact information. Design will begin in the Spring of 2022
